Hello! My name is Brooke Peterson. I am honored to welcome you into the Fitsterhood. I am a daughter of the King, stay at home mom, fitness instructor and aspiring author. A proud wife going on 6 years to a rock solid guy who spends his time in his commercial real estate business and helping (playing) at his family's farm in Southern Minnesota. We have a 1.5 year old daughter, Haven who totally rocked our world. We live in Minneapolis,MN and love this active city except for the few freezing winter months when I practically regret my existence. ;) Just-barely-kidding.
Fit Mom's Guide was birthed out of a passion for health, fitness and freedom. Disordered eating robbed ten years of my life. Now I am redeeming that time and would give my life's work to help others find the same freedom.
Becoming a mom was the best thing that's ever happened to me despite gaining over 50 pounds during my first pregnancy! I know the hopeless feeling of feeling like an alien in my own skin. Along with the confusion about where to start to get "fit".
Fast forward almost two years later and I am in the best shape of my life without deprivation or hours a day in the gym. Meanwhile having more peace and joy than ever before, which is why I think it is just as important to be fit spiritually and emotionally.
So what's holding you back? I bet it is either time, money or both...
Before I lose you to a massive eye roll, I am far from a fitness model or self help guru. I'm just another millennial mom with you in the trenches of motherhood, cellulite and all. Sometimes (too often) I forget my daughter's shoes when we leave the house and I spend most my days in yoga pants without makeup.
Fit Mom is your guide to your strongest and healthiest YOU all while being in the throws of motherhood. You are your standard, there's no comparison here. What works for you and what your current margin allows is different than your best friend. I'm here to encourage you along your health journey to train in your lane!
It's time to stay true to the course God has for you, instead of getting distracted and feeling disqualified by envying another's race. Let's figure out how you can honor your body in the meantime...right where you're at!
